What people say about (Gadsden Campground & Tubing)

Coe Allen

Will start by saying nothing in this review is meant to be negative so please don’t take anything that way… Weather and Creek level-cannot be helped but we went for the weekend and they opted to close on Saturday. We could not participate in the organized tubing experience but we did get to enjoy the beauty of the creek regardless. We simply had to transport ourselves from one end to the other. We were aware of the risks and opted to take our chance. No issues, no problems and we appreciate their concern for our safety. Campground-it is obvious they are working very hard to make some very nice improvements. There was nothing we would do different and we were very pleased with our experience. But in the next few months, do not expect a luxury campground. This is not the place for that. But you won’t find kinder people who really want you to have a nice, comfortable experience. Thank you all for a great weekend!!

My family and I stayed at this campground in April and unfortunately, our experience didn’t match the expectations set by the pictures on Google or their website. It was clear once we arrived that the campground is under major construction, but we were not informed about this ahead of time. Many of the amenities and areas looked run down or in disrepair, and there was a constant flow of construction trucks, loud noise, and what felt like a giant sandbox surrounding the campsites. To add to that, the train and highway are right across the river, and both were surprisingly loud — especially the train that would pass through around 10pm while we were trying to sleep. It really disrupted the peaceful camping experience we were hoping for. Some sites were also without power, though we do appreciate that the staff was understanding, allowed us to move, and refunded us for the inconvenience — that part was handled professionally. Overall, had we known what the actual conditions were like, we probably would have chosen a different place. Hopefully, these updated details and photos help others make a more informed decision.

6-8-25 I went today for tubing, had an nice experience. Nice campgrounds. Nice bathroom and clean. They have showers. And laundry room. Friendly staff. For a river, the water was a bit cold but you get use to it fast. (Id even say this river is cleaner than lake guntersville) I simply love watching the wildlife while floating down the river. They even had a vehicle to bring you to the river. Go put your float in the water and relax 🛟 Once you float to the end of the river. They will bring you back to the Start of the river so that you may go down the river again. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to have fun on the water. (I'll definitely tell family/friends to visit here) Also they have great prices 😁 it won't cost you an arm and a leg. I will definitely keep going back. Thank you Gadsden campground & tubing.
