Mt Lemmon Ski Valley

This is an incredible get away/day trip from Tucson in the summer time. The area has cute small town vibes. It is very walkable although it is a mountain so you are going up and down hills. There are plenty of spots to have a picnic and a few restaurants up there. A few different shops most of which sell delicious fudge. There is corn hole just past the sweet shop in the summer time. You are able to rent cabins and there is a lodge to stay which would be a great staycation in the summer. Highly recommend to anyone who hasn't gone.

Once in a lifetime experience. $17 adults. $14 children. Very beautiful scenery. Get to the top and it's more amazing!!

This is for a summer experience, not for the skiing, quality of the slopes, etc., which I've yet to try. I'll update when I do. This is a nice, small lift on beautiful Mt Lemmon. Buy tickets at the little ski shop (next to the fudge shop, which you also have to try). You can only buy round-trip tickets. The lift itself is a smooth ride. You'll pass tall pines and spruce along the way. Be sure to turn around safely and look to the north at the vast valley beyond the Santa Catalina mountains. At the top, you'll be able to see damage from previous fires in the mountains, but you'll also get some beautiful views. You can walk along the road, and there are several connecting trails. We took the easy Aspen Draw trail down the mountain, which is 90% in the shade and just gorgeous.
