What people say about (Desert Hills Golf Course)

Chris Schweighart

Nice public golf course in the heart of Yuma. Very reasonable greens fees for a weekend round in peak winter season. The course is also a bit challenging with lots of hills, and undulating greens. But the pace of play was very good; the Marshall actively monitors the players to ensure they’re moving along well. The clubhouse restaurant is top notch too. I’d definitely play again the next time I’m in town.

Excellent municipal style golf course in superb condition. Fun layout and track. Excellent staff who were very accomdating. I collect the metal small ball markers from every course I travel too, and at first they said they didn't have anymore and another staffer, possible head pro or manager came out and said he had a few left and gave it to me for free.😁👍🙌 Hole number 15 was a Big Boi 253 yard par 3!!! Alot of endulation throughout the course. Will visit again as this was a super fun track!!!

I played this course yesterday and have played it a lot this season. I find the course is in probably the best condition I have seen it in the last 12 years o playing it. The staff has always been very friendly. The reason I can not give it 5 stars is for two reasons. The first one is that 3 times in the last month we have come off of number 9 green to start on number ten only to have one or two groups put out in front of us and twice when number one had not one group waiting to hit not a good thing when you have to wait after finishing 9 then have a 20 minute to half hour wait until you hit again. The second is I'm not sure what the marshals are actually there for as we have had some very long rounds there and yesterday was 4 hours and 45 minutes. We have a few times asked the marshal why he isn't speeding up play when the group in front of us is two holes behind and we were told they are fine. Yesterday the group in front of us was two holes behind and holding the rest of the course up in fact the group behind us said they phoned the pro shop and nothing was done. The marshal was driving around doing nothing although he did have a good visit with the cart girl. We pointed to the the open holes and all the back up behind us and he went the other way. If you are going to have marshals at least get them to do their job. I have not seen one marshal do anything but drive around and find shade to park in and sit.
