I am so grateful for the staff at Cabela’s. I took my 6yr old son here today to get all the fishing gear he needs to start to learn to fish, as this has quickly became his favorite hobby. I did not even get the sale associates name, but he not only helped us pick out the correct pole (even adjusted the drag for us), bait, some advice on where to fish, but he also took the time to show my son how to make a basic fishing knot! My son was OVERJOYED and I couldn’t be happier with the service we received. We plan to be back soon for more fishing goodies.
Nice store, went to look at guns and accessories. Had several encounters with there employees through the visit and all were positive. That's a rare feat these days, store is managed well.
Cabela's (associated w/ Bass Pro Shops) is the premier sporting goods destination in Central Indiana. Unlike other top-tier outfitters such as REI, Cabela's has all of the field and stream gear necessary for those who hunt and fish. Poles, lures, fishfinders, Tracker and Ranger boats and ATVs, rifles, scent maskers, binoculars and well-made field clothing. The selection of camping and hiking gear is equally comprehensive and of equally high quality. Cabela's does not have the bicycles or technical climbing gear found at REI, but intriguing items abound throughout this cavernous sporting goods paradise. Prices are a bit steep as with all well-made goods. Staff are pleasant and very helpful. The store interior is beautifully rustic, including a large freshwater aquarium with huge live specimens of fish native to Indiana. If you are an outdoor enthusiast make the trip to Fishers and give this place a look. Take 69 or east 136th St. Other unique shops are located nearby.
