What people say about (Houston Municipal Golf Course)

Jared Burley

Great little hidden 9 hole course! There's not really "fairways". More or less just yard grass but the fairway shape is cut shorter than the "rough". Now, with that being said, the greens are absolutely beautiful! Looked like Bermuda to me! Very good green up-keep! Putting was decently fast! The course was very playable and would be good for beginners to scratch golfers! So for a small town municipal course it's very playable and decent for the price. 15$ for 9 holes with cart. Pro-shop workers were extremely polite and welcoming! This will be on my play-again list for this area!

The Houston 9 hole golf course is fantastic. The lady working the front desk is super nice. The golf carts are clean and very comfortable. Been going there since the 90's and it hasn't changed much. And i hope it stays that way!

Since Oakwood golf course became Houston Municipal golf course, yeah . . . Not great. They just lost ⭐ ⭐ from this guy. My girlfriend, her son, & I showed up on a Saturday at 2p, roughly. We have a country cabin in Bucyrus, and we always try to make a round of golf in Houston part of our trip. My girlfriend & her son had never played at HMGC. So, we waited for the rain to subside, got all geared up and suited up, and headed to the course. Lo and behold, there was a sign on the door that said 'BRIDAL SHOWER, COURSE CLOSED'. I mean, if there's a tournament or something, cool, I get it. But, common sense says just take our money and let us play while you have your shower. And there were 3 cars in the lot . . . Maybe 4. So, by all appearances, bridal shower was either over, or hadn't started. A couple folks even were spotted in the pro shop/ clubhouse, saw us knocking, and scurried into the back room. Bush League. For sure. So, will we continue to play at this course, only time will tell.
