Cypress Head Golf Club

Best public golfing in Volusia county. For $30-$60 a round, fantastic condition of greens, fairways, and tee boxes. Sadly, no matter how great the course is, can’t fix my 28 handicap (05/28/25)

I wanted to give this place 5 stars because it was in great shape and is as equally challenging as it is enjoyable, but unfortunately the members had to negatively affect the whole experience. The starter was going around quite frequently so we thought he was attempting to manage pace of play but apparently only for non members who were not causing any issues. We paired up with a twosome who started 40 minutes before us. They told us they have been stuck behind a foursome of members who were insufferable on every hole. They wouldn’t hit off the tee box until the green was cleared even on par 5s!! They also averaged about 20 minutes just on the green! That is unacceptable. The backup was insane with up to 2 and 3 groups on a tee box. They need to do better at managing their members. The course is overall beautiful and the cart girl was on point as well circling at least 3 times during our round.

It was quite a pleasure playing this course for the first time. The staff was amazing and the course was in fantastic shape. Kudos to the greens keepers and maintenance staff. Greens are rolling perfect and true. Pace of play was perfect. Just a lovely day of golf. We drove out about an hour and a half and it was well worth the drive. If you’re ever in the port Orange area or want to play a fun course with a cool layout this is the one. I’ll be back again for sure.
