What people say about (The Nest Golf Club)

Toni Schroeder

A man named AJ, who is in charge was rude and completely unprofessional. He is a horrible representative of this club and can only damage it’s reputation. My husband and I visited the Nest on Dec 16, 2024 with our realtor. We were looking at several properties in Pelican Landing. Our agent raved about the golf club. Since we were in town for a short time my husband asked to look at the Nest as the golf was one of the reasons we were interested. Our agent tried to reach A.J. prior to us stopping in the club house. Upon entering to club house there was no one in the dining room. Our agent stopped at the hostess podium and asked if we could simply just look at the view, she politely said we could not but then called A.J. to take us on a tour. Within a short few minutes A.J. came around the corner, apparently he had been in meetings. This man was completely UNPROFESSIONAL, Rude, disrespectful and classless in front of us and to our agent. Apparently you can’t come in to this club to look around at the facility unless AJ decides it’s ok. Not very welcoming and inclusive. The ladies working seemed embarrassed by his behavior. Needless to say, our experience was tainted. Time for AJ to move on.

We tried out The Nest with a two month transfer membership. Judi and I are avid golfers, 25 & 8 hdcps and play a lot up north. After just a few weeks it was obvious it was the right choice for us and we joined as full golf members. Interesting 36 holes of golf in good condition, enough room off the tee's but still need to hit it straight, water and palmettos nearby. Strength of the course are the greens and green-side areas. Lots of interesting chips and putts keeps the rounds fun. The finishing holes on both courses are fabulous! There is plenty of length with multiple tees to choose from and the tips would give Anyone a very challenging round!. Also nice that the courses are about equal so no matter which one you play it is a great day. However what sold us on The Nest were the people, both the staff and the membership. The members were very welcoming, we had many invites to join couples groups, men's groups of all levels and women's nine hole and 18 hole groups. Also lots of fun club events, and it is nice that there can be club events but another course is always open for member play. We have already made some good friends. But maybe the singular most impressive thing about The Nest is the staff. Even after just a few rounds the team knew us well and make every day there special. Hayes & Greg handling the golf traffic and flow could not be more professional but also fun guys. The bar and dining staff are terrific, Tony makes a great WI Old Fashion! And Dan, head pro, and AJ, membership helped us feel at home right away. Joining a club is all about finding the right "fit". If you enjoy good golf, with good people at a very nice facility then The Nest is for you. It is not "old naples fancy" and the membership is on the young side for FL. Check it out!
