What people say about (Eastwood Golf Course)

Devin O'Connor

First time playing Eastwood in a few years. Course was immaculate, greens absolutely perfect (slow, but understandable with the amount of play and heat — but they are true). Staff were wonderful, not sure about the other comments here. Guy in the pro shop was friendly and welcoming. Range balls are much better than I remember — not shag balls and flew well. Got paired up with two really nice guys and we played in under 4. Course is well designed, few challenging holes and some you feel like you should birdie. Scratch golfer— highly recommend! For $100 w/cart you won’t find a better deal. FMCC is my favorite of the two city-owned tracks but Eastwood prob a better overall test of golf.

The guy that worked the pro shop on 4/26 was a jerk! He gave me a hard time on the price which was already discussed over the phone. Also, he said it was Fort Myers law that you had to be 18 to get a golf cart. I looked it up and found that is not true. The law is you have to be 18 if you do not have a drivers license, which I told him I do. Makes absolutely zero sense. So we walked which honestly wasn’t to bad besides that there was no drinking water after the first hole. Like seriously its 90 degrees out. Course was nice though.

This is a great public course and cheaper than most options in the surrounding area. During their off season, it’s $60 before 3:30pm to play 18 and $30 after 3:30pm to play 18! We paid $60 for 9 around 10:30am, with a cart. Not bad. They do have a driving range! They do have a lot of doglegs on the front 9, some water, narrow fairways and trees but even with a beginner we were able to make our way around the course without losing too many balls. I would definitely come back. The staff in the club house could be more friendly, but that’s my only complaint.
