What people say about (Olde Florida Golf Club)

Brad Green

This is a real gem. If you are able to play, I highly recommend it. We had a great day with our caddy and the course was in amazing condition.

Every round of golf is a blessing to those who love the game, but my round yesterday (7/13/24) was an experience to be treasured now and always. This is a special club and a special course. With 73 being the average age of our foursome, we played the IV tees. At just a tick under 6,000 yards, which is about where you'd be from the whites on many courses, the course played "gettable" but was not a pushover. I'm mostly a "muni" guy from Atlanta, so the fact that the Old Florida grounds crew allowed carts on the course after a long, hard, rain the day before was the first of many pleasant surprises. Also--again because I'm a muni guy-- I had a hard time allowing our caddy, Cory to rake my bunker messes at first. But when in Rome....by the turn I had captured the spirit and behaved as if caddies are my way of life. Ah, the theapeutic magic of make-believe. The pace of play was never a factor, as the groups were nicely spread out on this pleasant Saturday morning. Cory was attentive and accommodating. His vision proved to be an inexpressible asset to me, as I went with all his reads and saved five or six strokes. The more stubborn guys in our group paid the price for their pride. After just three holes, Cory had seen enough of my game to give me solid club selection guidance the rest of the way. The resultant harvest was five honest (as opposed to lucky) birdies to almost offset two blow-up holes (dad gummit) which were not his fault in any way, but rather the fault of my undiagnosed and unofficial adult attention deficit disorder. The course is gorgeous, fair, and ---most important to me--not over-designed. It strikes me as being comfortable in its own, attractive skin, and the staff from parking lot to parking lot is just as pleasant and helpful as you'll find. My two cents: Figure out a way to get onto Old Florida. Note to Dr. Joe: Thanks for your amazing hospitality!

Favorite course to play in Naples. Outstanding hospitality and an overall superb day.
