What people say about (Winston Trails Golf Club)

Tawny V

My partner played at Winston Trails while we were in town, and I decided to join as a rider. We had a smooth start when we dropped off the clubs with a young gentleman near the pro shop. However, things took a turn when we walked over to the carts. The club cart attendant was adamant that we had given him different clubs and was quite aggressive about it. I think there was some confusion since we flew in with our own clubs. After about 15 minutes of back-and-forth, someone finally returned to the clubhouse stating they had the wrong clubs, and coincidentally, those were ours. I was really hoping for a smoother experience, especially when it comes to customer service. The young man definitely needs some training in that area. Overall, the golf course itself was great, but I hope they can improve their communication and service going forward.

The course is great and good price, but terribly managed. The starter is arrogant and rude, not providing any guidance for new players to the course. The course ranger is practically as useless as a tourist, just leisurely driving his cart around the course but not giving any warning of a group tournament ahead or players playing and holding up the course pace. The majority of players are typically nice but there are quite a few entitled players “who play there every weekend” yet have no golf etiquette WHAT SO EVER. You can play here and have a good time, but your chances of encountering bad golfers is equally as high. Best of luck to anyone coming to play here.

Very nice golf course. Very well maintained. Can't beat it on a nice cool day. Has a small snack shack where they sell soda and beer asking with hot dogs and other snacks. Associates in the pro shop are nice and helpful. There is also a driving range, practice putting green and a chip shot section. It's located within a gated community but it is open to the public. Overall nice experience.
