I'm a new golfer and have been to the local courses several times but this was my first time at a par 3. I brought my 4yr old (he wasn't actually playing but he loves coming along so I wouldn't pass that up for the world) and brought 2 other family members. I didn't have enough time for 18 but they don't do 9s in the morning apparently. I went ahead and paid for the 4 for 18 holes at 8am tee time on a Sunday and we started playing. The course is really fun. All par 3 distances with some CRAZY greens that were very challenging. It made for a great time for the most part. There was eventually one person catching up behind our 4 person so after a few holes we just waited to tee up and let him play through. He was friendly, we were quiet, everything seemed good and there wasn't anyone else catching up the rest of the time we played. However, eventually one of the workers drove up in a cart and started harassing us about our pace. He initially drove up and asked if we had a problem. We said no, we're just new and aren't good players. We mentioned that we let one person play through and we'll be aware if anyone else catches up but he told us that's not how they do things out there. He sat there right next to us watching us tee off and play for a bit. It was pretty off-putting and definitely didn't make me feel welcome. Everybody else I dealt with that day was very friendly. The rest of our holes felt rushed and anxious. I did make it to hole 13 before I had to call it quits and head out. It sucks that an otherwise nice family outing was stained by one guy trying to push us when nobody else was out there. I'm not sure if this is just how they are at The Nest or if this was a unique experience. I'll probably give them another try one day just to be sure but I figured I'd share my experience on here.
