What people say about (Sandstone Country Club)

We were seated by the windows overlooking the golf course. Very nice view. Then greeted by who I assume is the manager. Since it was our first time there, she reviewed the menu with us and explained the beef source and method of cooking. I thought this was great. Then our server, Shaye came to take our drink order, and she had a cutting board containing a small loaf of bread with a side of honey butter. I thought this was nice. Apparently no matter what you order, you get complimentary bread. There were four of us, we each ordered something different and we all liked what we ordered. No complaints with the food. Shaye was very attentive and checked on us often. The prices are right in line with every other place. For two drinks, and two dinners the bill was only $38.47. Not bad at all. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is the loud conversations from other tables. There was a group of guys talking very loud which made us have to talk louder to hear our own conversation, however the language they were using was the issue. Because of the language, I would suggest leaving young children at home. Not a family atmosphere. We will probably go back but without our grandchildren.

New ownership making many positive changes to improve the course! Already upgraded all the bunkers - with improvements in the works to improve cart paths, tee boxes and fairways. The new kitchen is fantastic and food is delicious! Would highly recommend playing a round of golf at Sandstone and/or taking the family out for a lunch/dinner at the club.

In regards to the post yesterday, I was part of the group with the 2 juniors. Our group travels all over Missouri and we've played several courses here. We understand, love, and respect the game, and our juniors are excellent golfers who also understand the game. Our cards ended up scoring at 73 and 74. The 4 hours of play mentioned is accurate. We played best ball, did not look for lost balls or waste time otherwise. Which is why the harassment from other golfers was so disappointing, especially when we did everything possible to keep a rapid pace of play and let others play through. I understand the course owners/management cannot control everything that happens on the course. But to follow up a complaint about harassment from old golfers with a condescending offer for discounted golf lessons and implying the original poster was lying about the timeframe is a perfect example of the pretentious attitudes we were dealing with. Silver lining- we were able to use this opportunity to teach our juniors that the generation of crusty old golfers is fading away. They are the future of the game and will be able to help eliminate what I believe to be the worst part of the golf.
