Pulling up on this course, I wasn’t sure what to expect as it was hard to tell where the course began. I parked in the parking lot by the baseball diamonds and had a long walk to find the first tee pad. I needed UDisc to find my way as it wasn’t clear at the time. There is no course map or any real direction up front. I understand the course is fairly new at the time of this review and there could be potential upgrades in the future. First impression off the first tee pad was good and that impression held for the first few holes before it became great at Hole 4 and continued. Hole 4 will be iconic to the course. From there it was some serious hiking on this large rocky hill. There is lots of elevation throughout and if you are not in decent shape, you might struggle or get winded often. Be prepared to climb some steep sections. This course is not cart friendly. There was one tee and one basket per fairway. Baskets were new Prodigy baskets and most of them had a 3D printed Next Tee attached under the basket. There were only a few times that I referenced UDisc to find the next tee because I forgot to look at the sign or basket. Otherwise navigating the course was easy the first time through. Signage is important to me and I do not like wasting time trying to find the next tee. This was not the case here. Tees pads are turf and marked with temporary laminated signs on a permanent sign holder. I imagine these will be updated at some point as well. Currently, the temporary signs provide Par, Distance, any info about OB or Mandatory shots, an art rendering of the fairway with flight path to the basket from Tee and next tee direction. With as much elevation changes as this course had, I was surprised not to see elevation changes on the signs but not really a deal breaker for me. Fairways are a mix of open/wooded and short/long. Shortest hole from 216 feet to finishing on Hole 17 & 18 being over 1500 feet combined. Many holes in the low 300’s and a few in the 4-500s. The fairways (not in the woods on the side of the hill) were well maintained, grass cut, garbage free, etcetera. Wooded holes were just that, wooded but on the hill. There were some paths that had fresh mulch laid down. The disc golf course is intertwined with a mountain bike trail. I was here very early on a Tuesday morning and did not cross paths with a single person, biking or otherwise. I can’t speak to how often the bike trail is used but keep this in mind when playing so as not to hit anyone. When in the wooded portion of the course, there are a lot of trees but not a lot of ground brush so it should be easy to see others using the course or bike trail. There were no garbage cans so plan to carry out what you take in. I will say I love wooded courses despite the number of trees and tight fairways. Regardless of what my score might end up as, wooded holes are a lot of fun. With that said, I can see a lot of people not liking some of the fairways here. If you are an open fairway long thrower, this may not be your jam. But for those of us who like the great tree equalizers, this is a great course. I am not from the area but where I was staying was a minimum 40 minutes away. I’d easily drive here 2-3 times a month if I lived 45-60 minutes away. This course is a lot of fun and challenging. I can see this being a very popular course for the locals and if you are in the area, I highly recommend making this a stop. First time here, throwing multiple shot on a few of the downhill shots and taking pictures, it took me an hour and forty minutes to play one round.
