Warbler Woods Bird Sanctuary

Beautiful area. There are several blinds with feeders and water features set up that get lots of birds. I actually saw four new lifers in about 3.5 hours. I did interact with two different owners who were both very friendly and helpful, as well as Callie and Ninja. Callie is a very friendly Golden Retriever, Ninja is a bit more reserved I believe a mixed breed. Callie will gladly follow you around hoping for pets and a game of fetch, she was very sweet. Make sure you contact the owners through the website to request a visit. Everyone is welcome but you need a gate code that is changed frequently.

This trail is filled with many blue jays, cardinals, and butterflies! I saw 3 lifers on this visit. Easy directions were provided via email. Very nice family to open up their home to birders. The map provided helped a lot on my walk. Peaceful getaway from the busy city. No mosquitos or snakes when I went luckily.

Such a peaceful sanctuary! Maintained well with lots of blinds, feeders, and bird houses. Great variety of open fields and dense covered paths. My favorite bird to spot there is the painted bunting!
