What people say about (Tour 18)

Matthew Sedillo

Unless you're a scratch golfer, I’d recommend skipping this course. Being just 4 minutes behind pace got us a scolding from Dave the marshal, who clearly lacks the people skills to manage guests professionally. For the price paid, the treatment was unacceptable and downright rude. Course conditions were also disappointing: Fairways: Patchy and poorly maintained — more dirt than grass in some spots. Tee boxes: Uneven and rough — far from what you'd expect at this price point. For the money, you’re much better off playing somewhere like Bridlewood, where a month-long membership offers better value, better conditions, and a more welcoming environment. Unfortunately first experience, and will not be returning. Lantana and bridlewood have my business.

Played this course this week and I am giving it 5 stars compared to where the course was a year ago. Greens are in surprisingly good shape from a year ago. Fairways were greened up nicely with just a few dry patches. I had no issues with the fairways, they are in really good shape and will no doubt continue to improve with all the care they are getting. Front 9 bunkers were rebuilt and looked great. Back 9 bunkers are being rebuilt as I wrote this. The service there is excellent. The layout is fun especially if you play from the back tees. For $79 this course is well worth it and surrounded by some of the most beautiful homes in the metroplex. The only downside of paying $79 is that there seem to be a lot of beginner to average players that can play very slow. Hopefully the price point goes up as the course keeps improving to bring out more and more better players. All in all I highly recommend Tour 18 Dallas—they’ve done an excellent job getting this course back in good shape.
