What people say about (Lajitas Golf Club)

Mr. F

my partner and i both agree that a golf course of this caliber in this part of the world, with all that is at stake in this day and age, and when consider all of the facts on a macro scale, might not be the best use of resources. i play a decent amount of golf for someone assimilating into adult-oriented human spaces and feel well-prepared to make such kinds of statements. my partner has never played before and thus lacks an understanding of the delights derived from a round of golfball. she only sees the massive demand of water, the spread of mono-cultured landscapes, the introduction of non-native grass species, the overwhelmingly skewed demographics catered to by these spaces, etc. as luck would have it, she's accurately informed on many topics and has an intuitive sense on how interconnected things all are. from a holistic standpoint, this course does not attract the kind of visitors to this region who will understand the trivialities of a border community with limited access to water. therefore, i propose we move this golf course to a state like florida, where they have already committed thousands of acres of land to golf-minded developers. instead of a golf course, we could use this area to look at the beautiful rio grande, or stand along the banks of the river and ruminate over the concept of a border splitting one landscape into two. or, to appreciate the absurdity of a defined cutoff that can change shape and depth, that flows. what do i do if i hit a ball from the USA into Mexico? does that ball need to be declared at the customs checkpoint? am i meant to stay in mexico and travel to the nearest point of entry before resuming play? i will investigate this the next time i am here.
