A hidden gem, for sure! We had a nice peaceful camping trip. It was too windy to kayak, but we'll be back! I love a no wake lake. Lots of wildlife. Good fishing. Caught a lot of blue gill and sunfish, a couple of small bass. Loved the little library and the ranger kit. They loan out fishing gear. If you forgot anything at home, it's just a 5 minute drive to Brookshire Brothers and to Ace Hardware, very convenient. Meridian is a really cute town too.
Great little hiking trails, cabins were excellent! The only downside is most of the bathrooms were closed due to construction, but overall was an awesome park to visit!
Just popped in for the day to see the park and scope out some spots to camp in a future visit. The park looked great! The lake was clean, with clear water and a nice fishing dock. We did a short hike on one of the many hiking trails that wind through out the park. Fern ledge was super cool! The bathrooms were under construction at the time of our visit, so I wasn't able to review them, and that's the only reason it's at 4 stars. There are a few camp sites up a road that doesn't allow trailers, which is a huge bummer cause I'd love to take the teardrop back there. I can go ground dweller for a couple nights 😜. I'm really anxious to come back to camp, fish, and check out more of the hiking trails. Seems like a really great park!
