What people say about (Stonehenge Golf & Country Club)

Noah Shahinian

This course was in great condition. Membership prices are competitive — among the most competitive I’d say though I have frequented as a guest. Apparently the course wasn’t in best condition a while back but it is top notch now. Definitely worth a drive if you’re within an hour. Greens are true, facilities are nice too. Secluded feel on the course despite the occasional house.

If you're looking to join a golf club you can do a lot worse than stonehenge. I found the course well-maintained and had an interesting layout. The fairways are wide and the greens are receptive. They had some par threes that were over 200 yards. If you have a complete practice facility as well as swimming antennas. I found the membership fees to be very reasonable for what you get however the lack of a cart plan was it pain point. So if me and my wife wanted to go out and play, even with the membership, it would cost us around $56 if we chose to ride. Matt , the membership director, was very welcoming and informative. For that matter the entire staff was great.

My experience with this golf course has been a tale of two extremes. My first two visits were pleasant - helpful staff, decent course conditions, and solid practice facilities. However, my third visit and subsequent interactions completely soured my opinion. I purchased a certificate (legitimately from someone who received it at a tournament) for 4 rounds of golf. Upon arrival, I was immediately treated with suspicion, with staff suggesting the certificate was forged. After providing verification details from the seller, a staff member wordlessly signed off "1 play" without explanation or courtesy. The situation only deteriorated from there. I learned the certificate was legitimate but that the original recipient "shouldn't have sold it" (though no such restriction was noted). Staff members were visibly uncomfortable around me and appeared to be gossiping about the situation within earshot of my girlfriend. Attempting to use the remaining rounds became a 3-4 month ordeal of unavailable tee times and new arbitrary restrictions (noon or later only) that weren't documented anywhere. When I finally escalated to the GM, instead of receiving understanding, I was essentially blamed for "throwing staff under the bus." The GM offered to help schedule directly but never responded to my follow-up. Eventually, a staff member helped me book a tee time but tore up my certificate without asking if I wanted to keep it for the unused fourth round. The final visit was awkward, TW did come out and ask if I was taken care of, but still no apology on how they handled it. The rest of the staff members who previously had been friendly now avoiding eye contact. The course itself is fine, but the customer service issues and the way they handled this situation make it impossible for me to recommend this club to others.
