I've played Rancho at least a few times per year for over 20 years. It's been a roller coaster with ownership and management changes, and a near sale and bulldoze for condominiums. Over the 20 years, conditions ranged from awful to just sort of ok. The greens have always been pretty good. Today (March 21st) was the first day in 20 years where (I thought) the course truly is getting into good condition. The bunkers have been re-sanded. The fairways are much greener, even, and lush. The rough is still hit and miss, but that's alright. The tee boxes are in consistenly good shape. The course is way, way better than it's been in decades. And the management and maintenance crew seem to have turned the corner and be really fixing it up. Kudos! It's always been a fun track and perhaps now it'll be in good condition. Fingers crossed.
