I just got fitted for a new set of Ping irons by Steve Carfano, the owner of Newport Beach Golf Shop. Steve is a highly skilled and experienced club fitter who ensures that his customers purchase the right equipment for their needs. You'll have a fitting experience that's significantly more comprehensive than you'll find at large chain stores or even with a manufacturer representative. I've tried both. Fittings can be a bit overwhelming but he'll make sure you're comfortable. There are so many club, shaft and grip options out there that expert help is critical. Steve makes sure all elements are customized to your game, down to the smallest detail.

If i could give more than 5 stars, i would. If you are looking to get fitted, please come to Steve and his team. After 18 years of playing golf on and off, i finally decided to get fitted. Everyone in this proshop was professional and kind! I’ve heard horror stories with club champion and had a glimpse of that over the phone when i got 2 totally different responses to my concerns and felt that they weren’t being honest. Steve really is a master of his craft and fit me within the timeframe we discussed. I was fitted for my driver and gained 40+ yards and reduced my spin by 2k! He will make you feel comfortable and help you get in the right gear. We even opted for the older Titleist model (Tsr3) to save some money after we found out my Callaway rogue was cracked. I will definitely be coming back for the rest of my bag fitting, and so should you! Update: Went to Steve again for a new iron set and put me in some beautiful Mizuno JPX 925 Forged irons! These have been an absolute game changer and dramatically lowered my scores. First time ever shooting under par after his equipment recommendations. Steve also has the best customer service I’ve ever experienced (you’ll notice the second you walk in). He really cares about his customers and so do all of his employees. He was also able to get me a replacement for a damaged 7 iron in no time after a manufacturing error. I am also a person that asks a lot of questions and he has always guided me with a smile. I will continue to go to Steve for all my golf needs!
